ERC-3643, originally known as T-REX (Token for Regulated EXchanges), is the international standard for compliant security tokens. It was designed from the ground up to meet the regulatory requirements of tokenizing real-world assets like property, equity, debt, and funds. The standard introduces an on-chain identity and claims framework: before a transfer can occur, both the sender and receiver must have verified identities with the required claims (e.g. accredited investor status, KYC completion, or residency in an eligible jurisdiction). This ensures that tokens can only be held and transferred by eligible parties, making the standard suitable for regulated markets across multiple jurisdictions.
